Moorings

Two CSSA clubs currently provide permanent moorings of various types for yachts owned by CSSA members (sole or joint ownership).

Portsmouth Offshore Group

Portsmouth Offshore Group (POG) is a self-help club based in Gosport whose aims include promotion of sailing and boating to its members. Maintenance, admin and improvement of the clubs facilities both shore and marine is undertaken by members on a voluntary basis. As a result our mooring fees are much lower than commercial rates.  We have a  full calendar of sailing, training and social events and welcome new membership.

We have a total of 246 moorings in Portsmouth Harbour.  We occasionally have spare moorings on the 44 midstream pontoon moorings at Wicor Reach or the 27 swinging moorings at Burrow Island. By joining the club you may be able to take up one of these (depending on your boat) and in time improve your mooring when granted one of our other 6 midstream moorings at Haslar Creek or the 175 walk ashore pontoons moorings in Weevil Lake. If you have a specific mooring query please contact us directly on moorings@pog-cssa.co.uk

Like to join POG ? Want more information? Please visit our website at www.pog-cssa.co.uk where you’ll find links for both mooring and membership enquiries and more information on what we do.

Netley Cliff Sailing Club

There are a few swinging moorings on buoys adjacent to the club site at Netley on the East side of Southampton Water. Most of these have between three and six feet of water at lowest tides, so are only suitable for small sailing cruisers of less than 30ft (9.15m) overall. The moorings are exposed to the wash of ferry and commercial traffic from Southampton Port There is also space ashore in the club grounds for winter storage. Launching is by winch or boatlift down a slipway.
