Rutland Civil Service Sailing Club is probably the smallest of our our CSSA sailing clubs but has probably grown the quickest in recent years, through determination of the club to establish itself as a place to “sail in good company!”
The club invites you to come sailing with them – whether a novice or experienced sailor they have something to offer.
The National Squib is a one design racing keelboat, originally designed by Oliver Lee in 1967 and just under 6.0m in length, with a 1.87m beam and a fin keel of 1m draft. The Squib has been described as “a lovely little yacht” but when being sailed competitively can readily be appreciated for performance characteristics more akin to a racing dinghy.
The club organises taster days when you can come and try sailing on Rutland Water in one of the squibs. Click here now to check out dates.
More detail of the club can be found on their new web site – RCSSC Web Site
